mOOvement offers water monitoring built into the app. Our submersible pressure sensor monitors tanks, troughs, dams, and creeks. The EM500-SWL is a submersible water level sensor. It measures water depth using a hydrostatic pressure probe. The probe goes in the water. The pressure at the probe tip corresponds to the water depth above it. The sensor runs on the same LoRa network as our GPS ear tags, that means no expensive 4G/5G plans needed. Get notified in the mOOvement app when water is running low.

Receive alerts when water runs above or below desired thresholds. Alerts come through the mOOvement app and by email. You can set different thresholds per sensor i.e. low alert at 10% and critical alert at 5%.
Observe water levels over time with readings every 10 minutes. The dashboard shows a graph with the last 30 days of data. Each reading is timestamped. You can export the data as a CSV file.
See your water points on the map. Each sensor shows as a pin. Tap the pin to see the current water level, battery status, and last reading time. The map also shows your cattle locations from GPS ear tags, so you can check if stock are near water.
What's the difference between a submersible pressure sensor and an ultrasonic sensor?
An ultrasonic sensor sits above the water and measures distance to the surface using sound waves. A submersible pressure sensor goes in the water and measures hydrostatic pressure. The pressure sensor is not affected by foam, wind, rain, or condensation on the surface. The ultrasonic sensor has 1 mm resolution. The EM500-SWL has 0.01 m resolution and can measure up to 200 m depth.
How much does a water level monitoring system cost?
